MALATE, Manila—It was a sigh of relief for the regional office of the Department of Labor and Employment in the National Capital Region (DOLE-NCR) after receiving a recommendation for continuing certification of their ISO 9001:2015 by its third party auditor on December 16-18, 2019.

Certification International Philippines, Inc. (CIPI) Lead Auditor Edgardo V. Eleria found only minor observations as announced on his closing statement during the last leg of the three-day re-assessment audit, which aims to assess the maintenance and effectiveness of DOLE-NCR’s management system against specified requirements for continued certification.

The regional office previously achieved the ISO 9001:2015 certification in August 2018 and looked forward to passing its first surveillance audit. (READ: DOLE-NCR now ISO 9001:2015 certified).

DOLE-NCR’s regional and its field office in Quezon City and CAMANAVA (Caloocan, Malabon, Navotas, Valenzuela) were the selected areas of assessment, which, according to the CIPI auditor, were chosen through sampling.

Eleria interviewed the process owners on the provision of government labor and employment related services such as the issuance of permits and licenses, registration of labor organizations and collective bargaining agreement, employment facilitation, and provision of livelihood and employment assistance.

Mirasol, thanked the CIPI for the time and opportunity extended for ensuring that the regional and its field offices continuously improve its quality management system.

“We are in the government and the mandate is that we are expected to render the highest standards of public service as we always do,” added Mirasol.
