DOLE-NCR honor employees for dedicated service

The Department of Labor and Employment - National Capital Region (DOLE-NCR) recognized their employees for their dedicated service during their first ceremonial launching of the Program on Awards & Incentives for Service Excellence (PRAISE) held at the Kartilya ng Katipunan Park, Ermita, Manila on December 18, 2020.

In his opening remarks, Assistant Regional Director and Vice-Chairperson for DOLE-NCR PRAISE, Atty. Russel A. Jallorina highlighted the significant role of the government officers and employees who are expected to serve the public at all times and the PRAISE awarding ceremony was held to recognize employees who went beyond the call of their duties to serve the people.

“Nakalagay sa ating Saligang Batas na kinakailangan mayroon tayong integridad, dapat efficient tayo sa pagtatrabaho, dapat makabayan tayo, dapat simple lang ang ating pamumuhay, pero hindi nakalagay doon na sa pagseserbisyo natin ay mag-seserve tayo ng matagal sa opisina. Not even working in the office for long hours—kaya may PRAISE tayo,” he said.

“Our Regional Director gives credit where credit is due. And we believe that right now, credit is due to the people here and to those who are nominated because they have served the people well,” he added.

Meanwhile, Regional Director and Chairperson for DOLE-NCR PRAISE, Atty. Sarah Buena S. Mirasol said that this year was by far the most difficult time for DOLE-NCR. However, amid the threat of COVID-19 pandemic, she honored the sacrifices, hard work, dedication, and commitment of all the employees, including those who have served the Department for more than 25 years.

“Nagpapasalamat ako sa inyong lahat! Alam ko ang bigat at dami ng trabaho pero alam ko hindi ito na-rerecognize but I know you are all doing your best. Hindi man po namin araw-araw na sinasabi sa inyo that’s why we are recognizing all your efforts to make the DOLE-NCR an epitome of excellence—the highest standard of public service,” she said.

Also in attendance were the Division Heads and Field Office Directors who also accompanied their recognized employees while receiving their plaques, certificates, and incentives.

As the ceremony was only limited to a few personnel and senior officials in view of the COVID-19 preventive measures, the activity was also streamed live via virtual platform exclusive only for all DOLE-NCR employees in the regional and field offices.

In line with the revised policies on Employee Suggestions and Incentive Awards System provided under the Civil Service Commission (CSC) Resolution No. 010112 and CSC Memorandum Circular No. 01, series of 2001, the PRAISE is designed to encourage creativity, innovativeness, efficiency, integrity and productivity in the public service by recognizing and rewarding officials and employees, individually or in groups for their suggestions, inventions, superior accomplishments and other personal efforts which contribute to the efficiency, economy, or other improvement in government operations, or for other extraordinary acts or services in the public interest.
