RTWPB-NCR and Valenzuela City TIPC conclude Usapang 2Ps Webinar Series

In its endeavor to raise awareness on wage and productivity programs among establishments in Valenzuela City through its Tripartite Industrial Peace Council (TIPC), in coordination with the Workers Affairs Office (WAO), the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board – National Capital Region (RTWPB-NCR) conducted a webinar series on Usapang Pasahod at Produktibo (Usapang 2Ps).

Running a four-session webinar on Usapang 2Ps in May 2021, the program gave way to the discussion of the Time and Motion Study (TMS), Facility Evaluation (FE), and Productivity-Based Incentive Scheme (PBIS).

On Usapang Pasahod, Board Secretary Kim S. Lagcao compressively discussed the TMS as a work measurement system designed to determine the standard time for a qualified worker or machine to complete a specific job at a defined level of performance. Further, he explained the nature of FE as a form of evaluation conducted to determine the fair and reasonable value of facilities furnished by an employer to his/her employee.

Sessions on PBIS on the other hand, were facilitated by the Board’s Labor and Employment Officers Jackilyn G. Borja, Ana Lissa A. Emperador, and Dalisay P. Moog. The PBIS includes the rewards given to workers as a result of improvements in their productivity performance.

Given the challenges brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic, participating business owners and representatives shared their view on how they strive to comply with the payment of proper wages, as well as the provision of applicable incentives. For its part, the Board committed to assist the establishments in the development of productivity improvement programs to contribute in the achievement of their business objectives.

The half-day webinar series held on May 7, 12, 19, and 26, 2021 was part of RTWPB-NCR’s engagement with the Valenzuela City TIPC’s Continuing Labor Management Education Seminar (CLES) for the City’s Barangay Labor and Employment Committee (BLEC), Employers, and Workers.

A total of 195 establishment representatives from the employer and labor sectors participated in the said webinar series. END / Jackilyn G. Borja
