600 TUPAD beneficiaries in Quezon City received their pay

The DOLE Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Displaced/Disadvantaged Workers (TUPAD) Program was able to assist a total of 600 beneficiaries in Quezon City.

On April 11, 2022, the DOLE-NCR through its Quezon City Field Office (QCFO) conducted an orientation on TUPAD pay out at #681 EDSA, Brgy. Immaculate Conception, District 4, Quezon City.

The orientation aimed to remind the TUPAD beneficiaries on their entitlements under the TUPAD program and to make sure that they will receive their rightful wages.

The activity was led by the DOLE Secretary Silvestre H. Bello III together with DOLE-NCR Regional Director, Atty. Sarah Buena S. Mirasol; QCFO Director, Engr. Martin T. Jequinto; Supervising Labor and Employment Officer, Mr. Raymond Benjamin R. Perez; and Labor and Employment Officer III, Ms. Lauren B. Resulta, in collaboration with Councilor Imee Rillo of District IV.

The beneficiaries worked for a period of 10 days from March 11 to 20, 2022 and had received their TUPAD salaries amounting to Php 5,370.00 through an accredited payment center.

In his message, Secretary Bello III reminded the beneficiaries to wisely spend their salaries amidst the pandemic.

“Use them to buy food, medicines and other necessities while the virus is still around,” he said.

The TUPAD or Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers is a community-based package of assistance that provides emergency employment for displaced workers, underemployed and seasonal workers, for a minimum period of 10 days, but not to exceed a maximum of 30 days, depending on the nature of work to be performed.
