The CAMANAVA Field Office conducted an orientation-seminar on DOLE-NCR programs which could be implemented in partnership with the Labor and Industrial Relations Office (LIRO) - PESO of Caloocan City at the Caloocan City Hall last July 23, 2013.
The orientation-seminar aimed to refresh and enhance the knowledge of LIRO-PESO Caloocan City employees on the basic employment services and programs related to labor relations and labor standards.
“I am very grateful for the support of the CAMANAVA Field Office. Thank you for always being available in responding to the needs of the people in Caloocan City. It is really important that LIRO-PESO and the CAMANAVA Field Office work as a team towards better delivery of services to our clientele,” said Mr. Erick C. Balane, the new LIRO- PESO Manager, on his welcome remarks.
In response, OIC-Assistant Regional Director Nelson C. Hornilla extended his deepest gratitude to the City Government of Caloocan, particularly the LIRO-PESO, for its unwavering cooperation with DOLE-NCR. “We are partners in helping the Filipino people achieve decent and productive employment. We need to intensify the dissemination of Labor Market Information (LMI), for this helps in reducing the unemployment and underemployment in our country. Through the LMI, people will be aware of the in-demand and hard-to-fill occupations locally and overseas. Truly, this will open more opportunities for people to find occupations suitable for them,” said ARD Hornilla.
CAMANAVA Field Office Director Andrea P. Cabansag gave the overview, while CAMANAVA staff presented DOLE programs and services. Marites D.G. Bulisig discussed job search assistance for wage employment and DOLE Integrated Livelihood Program. On the other hand, Nieves R. Guillermo talked about the process of conducting job fairs, and Ronald S. del Rosario explained the Special Program for Employment of Students (SPES) and Statistical Performance Reporting System (SPRS). Also, Katrina P. Laurente and Leticia D. Dilao discussed the Career Guidance and Employment Coaching implementation and Labor Education for Graduating Students (LEGS), and the Implementing Rules and Regulations of Department Order No. 18- A, respectively. Director Cabansag also served as resource person and shared her knowledge on tripartism, anti-illegal recruitment, Kasambahay Law, and Bottom-up Budgeting.
“I would like to thank everybody for being here. Thank you for your support. I would like to remind each and every one of us that all these programs of the DOLE will only be effective if you will fully understand and put into practice the processes of the implementations and the policies behind these programs. We assure you that the CAMANAVA Field Office will always be an effective instrument and ally of the local government in promoting full and decent jobs to the citizens of Caloocan City,” said Director Cabansag during the closing ceremony.
