The Department of Labor and Employment-National Capital Region held its Year-End Planning and Assessment on 12 January 2017 together with the 17 LGU PESOs and the School-based PESO, Lyceum of the Philippines-Manila Campus Job Placement Office.

The activity aims to gather the members of the PESO Association of Metro Manila (PAMM) to present its accomplishments, elicit and discuss various concerns, and action plan for the 2017 programs. In his message, Atty. Johnson G. Cañete, Regional Director, congratulated the PESOs on their performance and contributions in ensuring the effective provision of employment programs and services. He likewise mentioned the importance of cooperation among key players in employment to realize the common goal of serving as the primary link between the jobseekers and employment.

During the activity, the 2016 accomplishments were presented and several concerns were discussed so as to have a standard appreciation on program implementation. Planning for 2017 was also held to ascertain the competence of the programs and services being provided by the PESO.

The PESO 2016 performance was likewise recognized to motivate them further. Citations were given to Valenzuela and Quezon City PESOs for the assistance it extended to PWDs and the marginalized sectors, respectively. Recognition was also given to Quezon City PESO for its Anti-Child Labor initiatives to curb said concerns. Also, awarded for its commitment to employment services are PESO Marikina, Malabon, Caloocan, Mandaluyong, Makati, and Pasig; among others. The participants likewise submitted their commitments and targets for 2017.

The activity is in line with the Department’s thrust of recognizing the efforts and strengthen the camaraderie of the PAMM members to promote cooperation and emulate best practices of NCR PESOs.
