The Department of Labor and Employment – National Capital Region held an advocacy seminar with the beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program or 4Ps on 22 March 2017 at the Labor Governance and Learning Center. The Department of Social Work and Development – National Capital Region partnered with the Office to ensure the success of the initiative.
Around 300 4Ps beneficiaries and DSWD city-links and coordinators were provided information on the Department’s programs and services such as the Special Program for Employment of Students, Livelihood Assistance, and the JobStart Program. Personnel of the Employment Promotion and Workers Welfare Division acted as resource persons headed by the Division’s OIC, Ms. Aurora E. Halcon for Livelihood Assistance, Mr. Angel Santos for SPES, and Ms. Leila Legayo for JobStart.
On their part, DSWD 4Ps coordinators Ms. April Co. and Mr. Migz Dioquino coordinated and mobilized the participants to ensure their participation and attendance to the activity. During the Open Forum participants manifested their interests and we clarified their concerns in availing the various programs being implemented by DOLE-NCR.
The initiative is in line with the commitment of the Department on social protection for the marginalized sector, to transition from the informal economy to decent and productive workforce. END/Ryan Roberto Delos Reyes
