DOLE-NCR joins the RYAC National Convention

“Youth development should be measured by the realization of their (youth) dreams” said Assistant Secretary Percival V. Cendaña of the National Youth Commission during the plenary presentation of the Philippine Youth Development Plan at the Regional Youth Advisory Council – National Convention held on 22-24 March 2017 at the Waterfront Insular Hotel, Davao City.

During the Opening Ceremony, Undersecretary Cariza Y. Seguerra, Chairperson and CEO of NYC encouraged the participants to continue believing in the capabilities of the Filipino youth and at the same time serve as the sector’s voice by being champions of the youth.

Youth representatives and different organizations of Regions I, XI, and CAR showcased their practices that cater to the sector’s improvement. Recognition of youth initiative, youth activities, and different interventions supported by the local chief executives were presented and discussed. Promotion of local youth talents through performances of DMX Comvalenos and the Sinagtala Chorale were likewise showcased during the activity.

Mr. Ryan Roberto E. Delos Reyes, Sr. LEO of EPWW represented the Office and contributed during the break-out sessions that aims to enhance the policies on providing the sector with representation and the right to be heard on the various forums at the National level.

The activity was participated by various member national agencies involve in youth development or implementing youth intervention programs. The RYAC serves as coordinating body with the objective of amplifying the convergence of the National and Local Government institutions to promote, implement, and monitor youth bridging programs.
