On Holy Tuesday, April 11, one hundred sixty eight (168) outsourced employees started to receive separation pay totaling to PhP 4,629,144.00 from Philtint & Colors Specialist, Inc. The said payment released in 4 tranches concluded the Single Entry Approach (SEnA) proceedings of SEnA Desk Officer Cordella C. Delos Santos docketed under SEAD-NCR-CFO-0525-03-17.
“Maganda ang ginawa nila na binayaran ang aming serbisyo at me intension na i-regular kami. Maraming Salamat sa DOLE, sa Philtint, kay Sir Andy (Union Organizer and Adviser) at kay Sir Rommel (Union President)”, said Ms. Annalisa Sison, one of the employees who received the highest amount of separation pay amounting to PhP 50,024. Sison has been serving Philtint for 13 years from the position of Piece-rate employee to a checker and later, a production supervisor. Being a single-parent, Sison plans to use the money for the education of her children.
“Tutulong kami sa kumpanya sa pamamagitan ng pag-tatrabaho ng maayos at pag-sunod sa mga patakaran ng kumpanya at pati na rin sa union.”, Sison added.
The said imbursement resulted from the agreement initiated by the union among the Managements of Philtint & Colors Specialist, Inc. and HFD Manpower Services and the Philtint & Colors Specialist, Inc. Workers Union (PCSIWU) to recompense the length of service of workers from the date hired up to present. More than the pay, the affected workers are grateful that they will be absorbed as regular rank and file employees.
At the end of the settlement, Union Organizer, Mr. Andy Olais wished that this may be an example of how the unions advocate the rights of employees (under manpower agencies) to regularization. END- Angelica C. Fresnoza
