Sangguniang Panglungsod of Muntinlupa City passes its Local TIPC Ordinance

The DOLE-NCR achieves another milestone in its efforts to intensify tripartism and industrial peace, as the Sangguniang Panglungsod of Muntinlupa City passed Ordinance No. 17-071 on March 6, 2017 creating and establishing the Muntinlupa City Tripartite Industrial Peace Council (MCTIPC) defining and establishing its structure, powers and functions. Its passage came just after one public consultation attended by Director Nepomuceno A. Leaño II, MTPLFO staff, PESO Muntinlupa and the MCTIPC members on February 15, 2017.

The Muntinlupa City Ordinance No. 17-071 guarantees an initial allocation of One Million Pesos (Php 1,000,000.00) to be utilized in the creation of MCTIPC and in the exercise of its powers and functions. The initial budget allocation and its subsequent annual budget shall be included in the budget of the Public Employment Service Office of Muntinlupa City based on its Annual Investment Plan.

The passage of the MCTIPC ordinance acknowledges the roles of Muntilupa City TIPC Labor and Management sectors in realizing the Government’s pursuit of harmonious industrial relationship and at the same time attainment of a culture of voluntary compliance and self-regulation. Likewise, it set another landmark and model to other Local TIPCs in the hope that the latter shall engage in an endeavor such as this. END/Sheryl Anne B. Vargas
