Local Government of Pasay celebrates Labor Day thru “Trabaho, Negosyo, Kabuhayan-Job and Business

On May 10, 2017, the 2017 Labor Day Localized Job and Business Fair was conducted at the Philippine School for the Deaf- Pasay City, which also served as venue for Mayor Antonio G. Calixto’s birthday celebration, and the awarding ceremony of DOLE assisted livelihood projects to the returning Overseas Filipino workers by DOLE-NCR National Reintegration Center For OFW (NRCO).

The job fair was joined by 2,222 jobseekers and 57 employers. From the total number of jobseekers, 725 were considered qualified, 1,147 were for further interview and 58 were hired-on-the-spot (HOTS).  Job vacancies offered were cashier, merchandiser, utility/ janitorial staff, kitchen staff, and security guard, among others.

Pre-employment documentation services and career counseling were also provided by our partners from the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), Scope Global for Jobstart Philippines, National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), PhilHealth, the Social Security Services (SSS), and the Home Development Mutual Fund (HDMF) or the PAGIBIG Fund.


Also present during the mega job fair were Congresswoman Imelda Calixto- Rubiano, PESO Pasay Manager Filipinas Rosario Sampang, DOLE Makati-Pasay Field Office Director Andrea P. Cabansag, and Mr. Marco Antholin Santos of the DOLE-NCR NRCO. END/Katrina L. Otadoy
