MUNTAPARLAS Local TIPCs and ITCs Save Lives through Its Bloodletting Activity

The DOLE-NCR MunTaParLas Field Office through its Local TIPCs (Muntaparlas, Parañaque and Muntinlupa) and ITCs (Cargo Handlers & Logistics and Business Process Outsourcing), in collaboration with St. Luke’s Medical Center-Global City Institute of Pathology (Blood Bank and Transfusion Services), SLMC-GC Employees Labor Relations Services, and St. Luke’s Medical Center (Global City) Employees Association-AFW, conducted the 2nd Bloodletting Activity on April 1, 2017 at the St. Luke’s Medical Center-Global City in Taguig City.

With the theme “Dugo Mo, Karugtong ng Buhay Ko”, the bloodletting activity is part of the MTPLFO Councils’ Activity Work Plan to help generate blood availability in case of emergency. The activity was conducted in cognizance of the MTPLFO Local TIPCs and ITCs corporate social responsibility and support to social causes.

The Bloodletting Activity was spearheaded by MTPLFO Director, Atty. Nepomuceno A. Leaño II. In his message, Director Leaño emphasized that in time of need for blood, “walang mayaman at walang mahirap”.  He commended the MTPLFO Local TIPC and ITC partners and the MTPLFO staff for facilitating the worthy event. Mr. Lodivico P. Tonelete, RMT, Department Manager- Institute of Pathology SLMC-GC and Mr. Ferdinand N. Vargas, Union President, SLMC-GC EA-AFW also delivered their words of encouragement. Likewise, SLMC-GC Institute of Pathology Department was given due appreciation for hosting the activity. 

 

A total of 74 bags of blood were successfully produced from 155 qualified blood donors coming from San Agustin Transport, St. Anthony of Padua Transport, Bernardo Maintenance Services, SLMC-GC, Infosys BPO Ltd., Tas Trans Service Corp., Medicard, Wells Fargo, Data Centric, BASIC, Prime Otis, Lupel Mktg., Bensan Trans, APT Mfg., CDI Sakata Inx, Thermo Multi-Technology, Michelin, Shakeys, Traffic Supplies Const.
