DOLE-NCR Conducts Capacity-Building Seminar for SEADOs

The Department of Labor and Employment – National Capital Region (DOLE-NCR) conducted capacity-building training for the Single Entry Assistance Desk Officers (SEADO) at View Park Hotel in Tagaytay City, Cavite on May 31 to June 2, 2017.

The seminar was attended by 40 SEADOs from the six (6) DOLE-NCR Field Offices and Technical Support Services Division – Labor Relations/Labor Standards (TSSD-LR/LS) of the Regional Office.

SEADOs are the frontline implementers of the Single-Entry Approach (SEnA) program under the Department Order No. 107, series of 2010 signed on October 5, 2010, which prescribes a 30-day Mediation-Conciliation services for all labor and employment cases.

The Single-Entry Approach aims to complement the existing labor mechanisms with speedy, inexpensive, impartial and accessible settlement services and encourages parties to settle issues and prevent voluntary or compulsory arbitration.         

Director Teresita E. Audea, Deputy Executive Director Ma. Teresita L. Cancio, Director Feliciano R. Orihuela and Labor Attache Angelita S. Narvaez of the National Conciliation-Mediation Board (NCMB) and Mediator-Arbitrators, Atty. Maria Consuelo S. Bacay and Atty. Marissa P. Garcia of the Bureau of Labor Relations served as resource persons during the 3-day seminar. Another batch of SEADOs will undergo the same seminar on July 2017.END/James Oliver Punay
