DOLE-NCR Continues to Empower LLCOs

DOLE-NCR continues to empower its Labor Laws Compliance Officers through a learning session and capacity-building on June 16, 2017 at the Labor Governance Learning Center (LGLC) in Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Central Office, where 120 LLCOs participated in said activity.

Discussions include Department Order No. 174, series of 2017, facility evaluation and the mandatory conferences and assessments on Security of Tenure (SOT).

Board Secretary Kim S. Lagcao and Ms. Marlita R. Car, Supervising Labor and Employment Officer from Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board of the National Capital Region (RTWPB-NCR) served as resource persons and briefed the LLCOs on the standards of facility evaluation for employers.

Atty. Joel Petaca, Mediator-Arbiter,DOLE-NCR, facilitated the dialogue on assessments and mandatory conferences of cases involving Security of Tenure (SOT). This is in line with the effort to strengthen the cases against companies circumventing the prohibitions on labor-only contracting.

Also, Atty. Alvin Curada, Mediator-Arbiter, Office of the Secretary, served as resource person for the Department Order No. 174, s. of 2017. The learning session served as venue for LLCOs to raise operational concerns on the application of D.O No. 174.   END/James Oliver Punay
