DOLE PAPAMAMARISAN launches Government Internship Program for 50 Deserving Youth

On June 5, 2017- The Department of Labor and Employment PAPAMAMARISAN FIELD OFFICE, through its representative, Ms.  Edelyn Galos attended the launching of the Government Internship Program (GIP) for 50 exceptional youth in the Pasig City Hall.  This is the DOLE’s program to allow indigent young workers (coined as “GIPs”) to gain experience in public service and eventually prepare them for government service especially in the field of labor and employment.

“The GIPs should at least be high school graduates or tech-voc finishers and between 18-25 years old, according to our guidelines. Their presence is needed since they are dynamic, idealistic, and able to inject the DOLE workforce with fresh ideas and good practices. They are also able to learn from working in DOLE and they can carry with them experience when they find stable employment after their internship.” Said Ms. Galos.

The GIPs receive 75% of the minimum wage as their daily allowance and interested applicants may apply at the nearest DOLE Regional Office or Field Office.END/Marian Jane Alumbro
