Trabaho, Negosyo, at Kabuhayan Caravan Intensified In NCR

The Trabaho, Negosyo, at Kabuhayan (TNK) Caravan was intensified in the National Capital Region with the conduct of Learning Sessions and Job and Business Fairs with the aim of providing a more holistic approach in employment services and economic undertakings.

The Employment Promotion and Workers Welfare Division together with the Field Offices having jurisdiction over the local government units spearheaded the conduct of said activity. The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and the Public Employment Service Offices (PESO) were likewise active in promoting and coordinating the initiative that spelled its success.

Initially launched in the City of Marikina in March 2017, several cities followed in conducting said initiative in line with the celebration of the 119th Philippine Independence Day Celebrations. These cities are Manila, Malabon, and Pasay. Said cities organized its workforce to build their capabilities in

acing employment and honing their entrepreneurial acumen. The youth and senior citizens, considered as among the vulnerable sectors, flocked the learning sessions held in said cities and actively participated in the discussions on employment and livelihood topics.

Topics discussed includes Employment Coaching, Labor Standards, and Livelihood assistance for DOLE; Entrepreneurship and establishing business for DTI; and LGU programs and initiatives for PESOs. Most of the participants, particularly the senior citizens, expressed their appreciation in having the activity as it made them nostalgic of their previous experiences and at the same time enable them to rouse and refine their entrepreneurial interests.

The TNK Caravan is one of the responses of the Administration in addressing the needs of employment generation and economic development by providing the grassroots stakeholders with relevant information about the labor market and the right enthusiasm to inspire them to be more motivated and productive Filipinos.
