On June 28, 2017 about 2,682 residents of Caloocan trooped the Hall Grounds and Plaza for possible employment and livelihood opportunities during the “Trabaho, Negosyo and Kabuhayan Caravan (TNK)-Mega Job and Livelihood Fair.

With the theme “Sa Makabagong Caloocan, May Trabaho Para Sa Mamamayan”, is Mayor Oca Malapitan’s way of celebrating his birthday in partnership with DOLE and National Housing Authority (NHA), for the benefit Caloocan residents and those families relocated to the NHA -Camarin Residences.

This job fair was participated by 78 local employers and 6 overseas agencies, and posted 23.48 % HOTS (Hired-On-The-Spot) as 412 out of 1,755 qualified jobseekers were instantly hired on that day

.

As part of the TNK, the Caloocan City Government gave 87 starter kits to Caloocan City Manpower Training Center (CCMTC) graduates such as 20 body scrub sets, 20 manicure and pedicure sets,  18 foot spa kits,  6 facial/make-up sets, and 23 haircutting kits.

There were more than 100 individuals who attended and benefited in Business Management and Livelihood Training (i.e. Siomai Making and Embutido Making).

Government agencies like SSS, PhilHealth, BIR and PAG-IBIG provided pre-employment documentation services to the job applicants. The DOLE-NCR-CAMANAVA Field Office also extended legal and technical assistance on labor matters.

The success was possible due to the collaboration, cooperation and support of DOLE, NHA and Caloocan City thru its LIRO/PESO. END/Marilyn G. Galaites
