RTWPB-NCR Steered Series of Wage Consultations/Public Hearing for Possible Wage Adjustments in NCR

The Region Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board - National Capital Region (RTWPB-NCR) has convened Labor and Management Consultations to gather their respective positions and concerns on thye posssible wage adjustments in the National Capital Region (NCR).

These series of consulations are part of the process of the Board's wage functions under Republic Act 6727 or otherwise known as The Wage Rationalization Act to determine whether there is a need for an adjustment in the current minimum wage in the metropolitan. The process may be done motu propio by the Board or by virtue of a petition (s) filed by any party.

Since the anniversary date of the current wage order in NCR (Wage Order No. 20, Series of 2016) last June 2, 2017, thw Board was able to receive three (3) prtitions:

Assocition of Minimum Wage Earners and Advocates (AMWEA-PTGWO) P175 across-the-board
Associated Labor Unions (ALU)  P184 across-the-board
Trade Union Congress of the Philippines (TUCP) P259 across-the-board

In order to provide sufficient oppurtunity to both labor and management to raise their concerns, the Board was able to convene two public consultations. First is the Labor Consultation which was held last July 6, 2017 at the Occupational Safety and Health Cenetr, Quezon City while the  Management Consultation was conducted last July 14, at the Philippine Trade Training Center in Pasay City. Afetr which a join Public Hearing with both the Labor and the Management was organized last July 27, 2017 at the Occupational Safety and Health Center, Quezon City to ensure that all sectors whop stand to be directly affected are given widest oppurtunity to be heard and raise their respective concerns before the Board conducts its deliberations and review for possible wage adjustment.

The Board assured that during upcoming review and deliberations/s, they will exhaust all means to capture all relevant and economically feasible standards/criteria set by law to maintain the balance and to safeguard the interest of both labor and management.
