NCR PESOs Bags Awards at the 17th PESO Congress

The Public Employment Service Offices of Valenzuela and Quezon City won recognition at the 17 th PESO Congress held on 4-6 October 2017 at FL Dy Coliseum Cauayan, Isabela. PESO Valenzuela was recognized as Best PESO for the Highly Urbanized City while PESO Quezon City was conferred with recognition as Best in PhilJobNet, respectively. Other PESOs that participated in the conduct of impact evaluation for the Special Program for Employment of Students were likewise recognized namely: PESO Mandaluyong, Pasig, and Taguig.

The NCR delegates, headed by Regional Director Henry John S. Jalbuena and Ms. Emma Javier, PESO manager of Mandaluyong and PAMM President, were overjoyed upon hearing the announcement of the winners. Mr. Rhay Sausa of PESO Valenzuela and Mr. Carlo Magno Abella of PESO Quezon City were elated as the recognitions proved their exemplary performance in delivering the mandates of their respective offices. Also in attendance were Ms. Aurora E. Halcon, OIC-EPWW and Mr. Ryan Roberto E. Delos Reyes, Sr. LEO, who likewise expressed pleasure on the recognitions received by said PESOs.

Hundreds of delegates from all over the country represented their respective areas in the most anticipated event in the PESO calendar. Gracing the occasions are Hon. Sylvestre H. Bello III, Secretary of Labor and Employment, Hon. Faustino G. Dy III, Governor of Isabela, and Hon. Bernanrd Faustino M. Dy, Mayor of Cauayan City. Also in attendance are the Undersecretaries and Assistant Secretaries of DOLE as well as the local officials of both the city and the province.

The annual activity is a red letter event that caters to the needs of the PESOs to enhance their capacities in the delivery of employment programs and services and likewise increase and strengthen their networks through camaraderie and partnership.
