Janitor starts his Honesty Store in DOLE MPFO

Mr. Anthony Ombao, a janitor at the Department of Labor and Employment-Makati Pasay Field Office (DOLE MPFO) launched today his simple and hearty honesty store at the said office’s pantry. During his interview, he mentioned that this concept of putting up an honesty store started when he realized that he and his family spends P3,000.00 a month for renting a home. He is a father to three children ages 5, 3 and 1-year- old. His wife stays at home to rear their children and since he was only earning a minimum wage, it doesn’t suffice the costs of their expenses.

He and his wife had been planning about venturing to a micro business. His wife wanted to sell barbecues but they do not have enough savings to start. When Anthony thought of putting up the honesty store in the DOLE MPFO, he only has P300.00 at hand to start it up. He then sought permission with the office’s management to establish this honesty store in the pantry. When he was permitted, he eventually bought coffees and crackers and cup noodles with his P300.00 and placed his goods in the office’s pantry.

Today, the staff of DOLE MPFO enjoys the convenience of getting a fill of quick snacks and drinks through the honesty store Anthony has put up. He was hoping that someday, his honesty store would increase its merchandise and eventually save up for a bigger business.
