Beauty Care Behind Eradicating Child Labor

In support to the program of Quezon City Public Employment Office (PESO) on Child Labor-Free Barangay, the Department of Labor and Employment – National Capital Region through Quezon City Field Office, awarded the 30 starter kits of Beauty Care Products to 30 parents/guardians of child laborers of Brgy. Sacred Heart on November 27, 2017 at Quezon City Hall Covered Walk.

An amount of Six Hundred Thousand Pesos (Php600,000.00) was granted to Kamuning Bible Community Fellowship (KBCF) to provide skills training and beauty care starter kits to parents/guardians of child laborers in Brgy. Sacred Heart. Each beauty care starter kit is worth Php15,000.00. The skills training worth of Php5,000.00 helps capacitate the parents in the delivery of beauty care services and thus help them earn income for their families. The skills training was conducted by for 5 Saturdays starting on October 7 to November 4, 2017 by Negoscuela through Ms. Erlinda Binanitan, Training Director, and Mr. Ariel Ramis, Trainor.

During the awarding ceremony, Mr. Carlo Magno E. Abella, OIC-PESO, expressed his gratitude to DOLE-NCR through Quezon City Field Office’s Director, Lilibeth T. Cagara and DILEEP Focal Person, Ms. Eritza Molea for the livelihood assistance rendered to the chosen beneficiaries.

Congratulatory messages were delivered by Director Lilibeth T. Cagara of DOLE-NCR Quezon City Field Office. In her message, she encouraged the beneficiaries to further enhance their skills so they would have the opportunity to earn more.

Through this project, families of child laborers will have the opportunity to augment their family income and parents will be empowered to be more self-reliant, thus help eradicate the occurrence of child labor especially in the streets and other unsafe places.
