In 2017, the DOLE-NCR CAMANAVA Field Office, National Housing Authority (NHA) and Caloocan City Public Employment Service Office (PESO) awarded Livelihood grants to six (6) Home Owners Associations in Camarin Residences, Caloocan City.
Almost 500 beneficiaries from Buildings E, F, G, H and I of said resettlement site in Camarin were provided with livelihood resources worth P3,420,000.00 to set up their own businesses such as Frozen Food for Retail, Bigasan, School Supplies, Wholesale Grocery, Lechunan and Basahan Making under the DOLE Integrated Livelihood Program (DILEEP).
The Camarin Residence in Caloocan City is among the sites for the convergence of services and programs. Said Convergence Fund for the program was set up by the national government in pursuit of uplifting the living conditions of the relocated families in selected resettlement areas.
Among the activities covered by said fund includes establishment of community facilities, livelihood program, and other welfare services for the relocation sites that are lodged in various National Government Agencies (NGAs) such as DOLE. Also, the different programs enrolled for funding by the Convergence Fund was implemented in partnership with LGUs, particularly the PESO and the community associations in the resettlement sites.
DILEEP is one of the department’s venture to contribute to the government agenda of inclusive growth through massive job generation and poverty reduction. END / Angelica Fresnoza / IMSD-LCO-2018-01 / PRJ18-16
