40 students under YECS receive school supplies from DOLE

The DOLE Makati Pasay Field Office (MPFO) awarded livelihood grants to the Youth Entrepreneurship and Cooperativism in Schools (YECS) of Bangkal High School and San Antonio National High School in Makati City on 09 February 2018.

In partnership with the Career Advocates and Life Coaches and Mentors (CALM) Network of Makati City through the Public Employment Service Office, 40 students under the YECS program from the aforementioned schools received school supplies worth P250,000.00.

School principal Dr. Felix Bunagan of Bangkal High School and Dr. Divine Linda dela Cruz of San Antonio National High School together with Lourdes Gonzales, current Guidance Counselor of Makati Science High School and President of the CALM Network Makati City Chapter were present during the event. DOLE MPFO Director Andrea P. Cabansang and LEO Pam Fijer with Miko Maniego and Errish Dela Cruz of Makati City PESO witnessed the awarding ceremony.

With the Livelihood grant awarded to both schools, the profit sharing scheme aims to give profit percentages of 70 percent to students, 10 percent for school utilities, 10 percent for revolutionary fund, and another 10 percent for the department fund.

The YECS Program was established and institutionalized in the schools nationwide as an effective co-curricular program in support of and as an enrichment of the skills development and training program in work-related activities in the curriculum at the secondary level.
