TUPAD beneficiaries in Pasig receives pay

PASIG CITY—Some 1,912 TUPAD beneficiaries received their salaries for the 10-day work on 28 February 2018 (1st batch) and 01 March 2018 (2nd batch) at Concepcion Elementary School.

Each TUPAD worker received a total amount of P5,120.00 under the minimum wage rate.

One of the program beneficiaries, Mary Ann Pertis, 46 years old, a highschool graduate, rendered her service by cleaning along the streets of Alfonso Ching Hoa, Lope K. Santos, Narra, and La Jotavilla.

“Normally, people like Mrs. Pertis are unable to find work immediately because of her age and educational background. However, because of TUPAD, she became productive and was able to help her family” said Edelyn Galos of the Department’s PAPAMAMARISAN field office.

Another program recipient, Josephine De Luna, 44 years old, attended a massage therapy seminar but due to lack of employment opportunities, it was timely for her to avail of the TUPAD to earn extra income for her family.

People like Rudy Sabijon, 49 years old, also benefitted from TUPAD. With no formal training and was only able to finish high school, Sabijon worked for 10 days and was also able to receive a salary during the payout. END / Marian Jane Alumbro / IMSD-LCO-2018-03 / PRM18-05
