Graduating students join labor and employment education

MANDALUYONG CITY—Around 70 graduating students, all scholars of the city government, attended the Employment Coaching and Labor Education for Graduating Students Seminar Advocacy held at the City Council Session Hall through the Local Government Unit of Mandaluyong City’s Public Employment Service Office on Wednesday, March 21. 

The activity was in line with the City’s Gender and Development program, a contribution to the celebration of Women’s Month.

In her welcome message, Councilor Charisse Marie Abalos-Vargas stressed on the programs of the City Government to bridge the education and employment needs of the youth such as the scholarship and employment facilitation programs. She also mentioned the importance of taking the programs seriously to ensure the sector’s brighter future.

Invited as the Resource Speaker, Senior LEO Ryan Roberto E. Delos Reyes of DOLE-NCR’s Employment Promotion and Workers Welfare Division imparted information on acing employment such as application letter and resume writing, decorum on job interviews, and positive work attitude. Delos Reyes also familiarized the participants on basic labor rights including minimum wage, overtime pay, leaves, social benefits, among others.


PESO Manager Emma Javier emphasized that the activity is the City Government’s way of contributing to women’s success.
