Caloocan TIPC held first meeting for 2018
Director Rowella Grande leads the open forum for the participants
 
CALOOCAN CITY HALL—some 89 representatives from various establishments joined this year’s first Orientation on Tripartite Industrial Peace Council (TIPC) through DOLE-NCR CAMANAVA and PESO-Caloocan partnership initiative on Friday, April 20. 
 
In her opening remarks, Caloocan PESO Manager Violeta Y. Gonzales was thankful of their positive response to the invitation.   
 
The first speaker, Labor and Employment Officer (LEO) Joseph Gil E. Cabrera discussed the Revised Rules on the Administration and Enforcement of Labor Laws Pursuant to Article 128 of the Labor Code as Amended (or Department Order No. 183-17).
 
Next speaker, Senior LEO Robert H. Panganiban, presented the Rules Implementing Article 106-109 of the Labor Code as Amended (or Department Order No. 174-17) and the Guidelines on Voluntary Regularization of Employees (or Labor Advisory No. 6-17).
 
Senior LEO and CAMANAVA Focal Person for TIPC Program Jonathan A. Lardino shared that the TIPC is instrumental in promoting industrial peace as it provides a conducive and dynamic relationship among the sectors of labor, management, and government. Lardino added that the strikes, company shut down, and other related major issues can be resolved through said council.
 
Provided with an opportunity to ask questions, participants expressed their views through an Open Forum with DOLE CFO Director Rowella V. Grande.
 
In her closing remarks, Director Grande persuaded the participants to be active members of the Caloocan City TIPC. She added that the participants and new TIPC members are welcome to visit DOLE-CFO for any concerns pertaining on labor matters. END / Angelica Fresnoza / IMSD-LCO-2018-04 / PRA18-07
