12 workers receive P200K monetary package through SEnA
DOLE-NCR Assistant Regional Director Atty. Erwin N. Aquino during the Mediation-Conciliation Conference

 
MALATE, Manila—The labor department’s regional office in NCR settled the claims of the 12 former employees of HTT Global Technology Services, Inc. who initially sought the assistance of Raffy Tulfo via his radio program. 
 
Following Tulfo’s referral to the Department, said former worker complainants—Joel Alapan, Alan Alcera, Benjie Ali, Nico Formento, Alexander Guiabar, Ronald Santos, Randolf Joseph Teope, Gilbert Velasco, John Gilbert Velasco, John Marvic Velasco, Emille Rentillo and Sabre Wahab and the respondent-company, through representatives Atty. Michelle Basmayor and Melvin Manuzon, went through a mediation-conciliation proceedings before DOLE-NCR Assistant Regional Director Atty. Erwin N. Aquino who served as Desk Officer/Mediator-Conciliator for both parties.
 
During the last conference held Monday, June 18, said claimants and the respondent-company representatives settled the claims in the aggregate amount of P241,700.46, representing the parties’ claims for unpaid wage, holiday pays, service incentive leave conversion, pro-rated 13th month pay, reimbursement for unremitted taxes and non-remittance of SSS, Philheath and Pag-Ibig. In addition, Wahab and Rentillo also received their separation pays. 
 
Under Department Order No. 107, series of 2010, or the Guidelines on the Single-Entry Approach Prescribing 30-Day Conciliation-Mediation Services for All Labor and Employment Cases, a mandatory conciliation-mediation mechanism shall be readily available at the Regional Offices to complement the existing rules and procedure for the speedy, accessible and inexpensive way of settling labor disputes and/or claims arising from employer-employee relationship. This is consistent with the Constitutional mandate on the preferential use of voluntary modes in settling labor disputes as also reflective on existing laws such as the Labor Code of the Philippines and the Republic Act No. 9285 or the Alternative Dispute Resolution Act of 2004.
