Labor & employment education held for private sectors
 
 
 
MAKATI CITY—Some 72 participants from various private establishments in the cities of Makati and Pasay joined the 2-day orientation on the Continuing Labor and Employment Education Program (CLEEP) on August 2-3, 2018.
 
During the activity, DOLE-MPFO Supervising Labor and Employment Officer, Julita G. Mendoza, were grateful for the participation of the attendees and enthused the human resource representatives present in the seminar to continuously be an effective conduit between labor and management and to remain unbiased in every decision-making imperatives for their respective organizations.
 
Organized by DOLE Makati-Pasay Field Office (MPFO), the following topics were covered during the seminar: General Labor Standards, Labor Relations, Occupational Health & Safety, and other related issuances and mandates of the Department; Anti-Sexual Harassment Law; Drugs and Alcohol in the Workplace; Anti-Tuberculosis in the Workplace; and Family Welfare Program.
 
Guest resource speakers shed light on the Social Security System (SSS) as facilitated by SSS Makati-Gil Puyat Branch Head, Maria Rita S. Aguja; and the roles and programs of the Employees Compensation Commission (ECC) as explained by ECC representative, Alice Borres. 
 
The activity primarily intends to fulfill the objective of CLEEP, which is to educate workers and employers on their rights and responsibilities to become responsible partners in building harmonious labor-management relations.  END / Sarah May Asaytuno
