Crackdown on erring employment agencies intensified

MANILA—Two private employment agencies have been found to be operating without a valid license and authority to recruit during a case briefing at the Department of Labor and Employment – National Capital Region (DOLE-NCR) on Thursday, October 18.

DOLE-NCR Mediator-Arbiter, Atty. Olivia Obrero-Samson presided the case briefing of the two erring employers: Ashly Employment Agency, owned and managed by Melinda Farro Morta; and Golden Raise Employment Agency, owned and managed by Aceleta Sepagan.

Said owners were given a copy of the closure order, which stated the acts or violations committed: ‘illegal recruitment,’ ‘collection of processing fees,’ and ‘illegal use of the name of a duly licensed private recruitment agency.’

NCR Police Office (NCRPO) SWAT team together with DOLE-NCR representatives Aurora Halcon, Nora Garcia, Ferdinand Abalos, and Reggie Abejero led the closure of said establishments.

Barangay local officials who have jurisdiction on the location of said agencies were told to monitor and report illegal activities to DOLE-NCR.  END / Ferdinand Abalos
