DOLE Manila’s week in photos: 5-9 November 2018

44 union officers and members of the Aloha Hotel Employees Union joined the “Seminar-Workshop on Management Prerogatives, Union Rights, and Dispute Resolution, with Special Topics on Labor Inspection, Security of Tenure and Contracting,” under the DOLE Workers Development Program (WODP) Training Grant on Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at Aloha Hotel, Manila. DOLE Manila field office (MFO) facilitated the activity lead by head Ma. Corazon M. Pepito with Assistant Regional Directors, Atty. Erwin Aquino and Atty. Sixto Rodriguez, Jr. as resource speakers.



“Orientation on Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa mga Disadvantaged and Displaced Workers (TUPAD) Program and Occupational Safety and Health Standards (OSHS)” for 520 TUPAD beneficiaries in Manila District I on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at Barangay 72 Covered Court, Concha Street, Tondo, Manila. DILEEP focal person Regina Balasbas (left photo) discussed the TUPAD implementation guidelines while Senior labor and employment officer / labor inspector Zarah Jane Cabrera on the basic principles of OSHS.



Manila field office head Ma. Corazon Pepito (top photo, right) led the awarding of goods, tools and jigs to 54 beneficiaries during the “Awarding of Individual Livelihood Formation Projects for Parents of Child Laborers under the DOLE Integrated Livelihood and Emergency Employment Program (DILEEP) and Orientation on Republic Act No. 9231 (otherwise known as the Act Providing for the Elimination of the Worst Forms of Child Labor)” on Thursday, November 8, 2018 at the Barangay 118 Covered Court, Road 10, Tondo, Manila. In attendance were representatives from the Manila Public Employment Service Office (PESO), Manila Department of Social Work (MDSW), Youth Development and Welfare Bureau (YDWB), Division of City School Manila, and the Manila Health Department (MHD).



“Orientation on Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa mga Disadvantaged and Displaced Workers (TUPAD) Program and Occupational Safety and Health Standards (OSHS)” held for 1,470 TUPAD Beneficiaries in Manila District V on Thursday, November 8, 2018 at the Alakdan Covered Court, Francisco cor. Zafiro Streets, San Andres Bukid, Manila. 



54 beneficiaries of the DOLE Integrated Livelihood Program (DILP) in Manila from Barangays 39, 41, 118, 119 and 120 were assisted from October 29 to November 9, 2018 during the purchase of goods and items for their proposed livelihood formation project amounting to 540,000.00 pesos. Program recipients are to use the received goods for sari-sari store, carinderia, rice retailing, egg vending, and ready-to-wear clothes retailing micro-business.
