Valenzuela, Taguig PESO awarded for exemplary performance

DAVAO CITY—Two of the Public Employment Service Offices (PESO) in the National Capital Region (NCR) were recognized for exemplary performance during the recently concluded 18th National PESO Congress themed "TNK at PESO: Magkasangga Tungo sa Pagbabago at Pag-asenso" last October 25-27, 2018. 
The local government unit of Valenzuela City as represented by PESO Manager Josephine Osea brought home the Best PESO award under the Highly Urbanized City category and have tied the place with PESO Olongapo City, Zambales of DOLE Region 3.
PESO Valenzuela City has claimed possession of the coveted award for two consecutive years, with its first win bagged during the 17th National PESO Congress in Cauayan, Isabela.

The Bureau of Local Employment (BLE) also recognized DOLE-National Capital Region for assessing 17,000 students during the pilot run of the Philippine Talent Map Initiative (PTMI). Conducted by Servicio Filipino, Inc. (SFI), PTMI assesses and evaluates the competencies of participants through a standardized assessment and survey. On a larger scale, the results of said initiative provides valuable insights and recommendations to policy makers to create more relevant programs in addressing workforce issues.

Meanwhile, PESO Taguig City earned the Philjobnet (PJN) Special Award for their effective and efficient program implementation and advocacy. PJN is an internet-based job and applicant matching system intended to help jobseekers search for employment opportunities and for employers to search for manpower. Taguig City PESO Manager Norman M. Mirabel received the award with DOLE MUNTAPARLAS—said city's field office of jurisdiction headed by Officer-in-Charge Rolinda B. Sandoval. Both shared the honor on stage with DOLE-NCR Regional Director, Atty. Ana C. Dione.
Five establishments in Metro Manila were also recognized for their continuous support to Philjobnet system, specifically for ensuring regular update of their job vacancies in the said DOLE-online portal: INC Navigation Company Philippines (Overseas Recruitment Agency Category); Asiapro Multi-purpose Cooperative (Cooperative Category); New Personnel Builders and Consultancy Services (Local Recruitment Agency Category); Springboarders, Inc. (Private Category); and Research Institute for Tropical Medicine (Government Category).
The annual national event aims to recognize the contribution of all PESO on the employment facilitation programs and to reward its outstanding accomplishments.
