PASAY CITY—Some 167 jobseekers were hired-on-the-spot (HOTS) during the Barangay Job Fair held at Maricaban Covered Court on February 5, 2019.

The activity was held in partnership with the Local Government of Pasay City through its Public Employment Service Office and DOLE field office in Makati and Pasay.

A total of 45 participating employers and 6 government agencies offered 6,775 job vacancies to 900 registered jobseekers.

The community-based job fair also offered free medical check-up and massage services with free government services from NBI, SSS, Pag-Ibig, PSA, and DOLE. Photo courtesy of Katrina Otadoy, DOLE-NCR Makati-Pasay Field Office.

In her opening message, DOLE Makati-Pasay field office (MPFO) head Andrea Cabansag encouraged the jobseekers to look for jobs that are suited to their educational background, skills, and talents.

Pasay City PESO Manager Filipinas Rosario Sampang gave recognition to the top 15 employers and government agencies who participated in all the job fairs held by their locality last 2018.

Also in attendance was Congresswoman Imelda “Emi” Calixto-Rubiano who recognized the efforts made by Pasay City PESO and DOLE MPFO for conducting a barangay-based job fair. She was pleased to see many competent Pasayeños applying for local jobs. END / Katrina Otadoy
