Mandaluyong City recognizes DOLE-NCR for continuous employment service commitment

(FRONT ROW, FROM LEFT) Mandaluyong City Mayor Menchie Abalos (sixth) awards program partner agencies in recognition for their continuous support to the city’s initiative in bringing its services at the local level. Among the awardees were two of the DOLE-NCR personnel: PAPAMAMARISAN field office head Leonides P. Castillon, Jr. (second) and TSSD-EPWW Senior Labor and Employment Officer Ryan Roberto E. Delos Reyes (fifth).

Commemorating a locality’s rich past is one way of honoring those who worked hard in the struggle for independence. It is a way for the present to look back, pay tribute to its history, and prepare for the next steps to be taken to ensure a better prospect for its populace. Jiving the past with the present to plan for the future is a better approach to remind the people of its heritage and culture that will make them proud and strengthen their identity.

That was the similar view of the City of Mandaluyong when they commemorated their 74th Liberation Day and 25th Cityhood Anniversary at the Atrium-Executive Building, Mandaluyong City Hall on February 11, 2019 during the flag ceremony with its local chief executive, Carmelita “Menchi” Abalos, conferring the award.

Part of the culminating activity was the recognition of partners that played an important role in shaping and preparing the Mandaleños. Among those recognized partners were two of the personnel from the Department of Labor and Employment - National Capital Region: PAPAMAMARISAN Field Office Director Leonides P. Castillon, Jr., and Senior Labor and Employment Officer Ryan Roberto E. Delos Reyes from the Employment Promotion and Workers Welfare Division.

Director Castillon, Jr. was awarded for his facilitation of programs that address the concerns of poverty alleviation such as the TUPAD and Livelihood Assistance. For his part, Delos Reyes was recognized for his commitment in the provision of Career Guidance and Employment Coaching Program. The awardees were elated by the recognition and inspired to be more active and innovative in delivering the mandates of employment service at the local level.

Also awarded during the ceremony were other national government agencies, private organizations, and individuals who contributed to the city’s continuous progress.

The awarding of partners is in recognition for their continuous support to the local government’s initiative to bring the services to the grassroots level and for the successful implementation of the flagship projects of Mandaluyong City’s current administration through collaboration with the national government agencies.
