RTWPB-NCR orients Muntinlupa TIPC on new wage issuance

The Muntinlupa City Tripartite Industrial Peace Council (MCTIPC) spearheaded a learning session on the new wage order of RTWPB-NCR entitled “Wage Order No. NCR-22” last February 28, 2019 at the main building of the City Government of Muntinlupa.
 
Said session was organized in coordination with DOLE MUNTAPARLAS Field Office and Muntinlupa Public Employment Service Office. 
 
The said order took effect on November 22, 2019, which provides minimum wage earners in the private sector in Metro Manila for an additional P25 per day in their basic wage, which brings the minimum wage for the non-agriculture from P512 to P537. Workers in the agriculture, retail/service establishments employing 15 workers or less, and manufacturing establishments regularly employing less than 10 workers will receive a new minimum wage rate from P475 t0 P500. 
 
Wage Board-NCR considered the various criteria in setting the minimum wage under Republic Act 6727 or the “Wage Rationalization Act” as well the positions and recommendations of various organizations coming from labor, employers, concerned government agencies, and other stakeholders.  
 
The session was participated by various members of the council composed of labor and management as well as other government organizations in the area. 
 
Muntinlupa City Mayor Jaime Fresnedi led the activity and provided the inspirational message to all attendees. 
 
Also included in the session is an orientation on the Republic Act 11058 or “An Act Strengthening Compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Standards and Providing Penalties for Violations Thereof” as handled by Engr. Martin T. Jequinto of DOLE-National Capital Region. END / Kim Lagcao
