Some 1,556 graduating students of the Universidad de Manila (UDM) joined the Labor Education for Graduating Students (LEGS) on April 5 & 6, 2022 to equip them in the world of work.
The seminar was conducted by the Manila Field Office (MFO) of the Department of Labor and Employment – National Capital Region (DOLE-NCR) in cooperation with the City Government of Manila’s Public Employment Service Office (PESO).
Manila PESO Manager Fernan Bermejo welcomed the participants and guests to the seminar while MFO labor officers Jeremiah Carlos and Bonn Lorenz Parba served as resource persons.
Said labor officers oriented the students on the employer-employee relationship and discussed the rights and responsibilities of both workers and employers.
Moreover, Manila PESO head intensified awareness of students about the programs and services of their PESO, especially at the time of the pandemic. He also shared the employment opportunities for graduating students and their upcoming events.
LEGS also intends to help the graduating students become familiar with the Department’s services on employment facilitation, workers protection, and social security coverage for the employees and other labor-related information that will guide and help them become responsible partners in establishing harmonious labor-management relations towards the attainment of decent and productive work.
