CALOOCAN CITY – The Department of Labor and Employment – National Capital Region (DOLE-NCR) through its CAMANAVA Field Office (CFO) awarded a total of P9.4-M amount of money claims to 31 union members/employees.
These employees are under the CDO Foodsphere Inc. and union members of CDO Employees Independent Organization who had averted a possible strike after DOLE-NCR CFO intervened and settled the issue in just three days.
Under the SEnA or Single Entry Approach guidelines of the labor department, a Request for Assistance (RFA) is subject to a 30-day mandatory conciliation-mediation services, hoping to reach a mutually accepted agreement within the period.
Because of the immediate resolution, the issues were prevented from elevating into a full-blown labor case and the industrial peace was sustained.
According to Single Entry Assistance Desk Officer (SEADO) Gerry Malgapo, the workers have availed benefits of separation pay, 13th month pay, and unused service incentive leave after settling the issues with both parties.
“Their health card coverage which is supposed to be terminated was even extended,” he added.
