The Department of Labor and Employment – National Capital Region (DOLE-NCR) through its PAPAMAMARISAN Field Office (PFO) awarded over three million pesos worth of Negosyo sa Kariton (NegoKart) for 103 ambulant vendors from Barangay Malanday, Marikina City on February 8, 2022.

The awarded DOLE NegoKart aims to assist the ambulant vendors in improving their existing livelihood undertaking to boost profitability and make it sustainable.

The distributed NegoKarts were composed of 30 Skincare Production Packages, 30 Welding Packages, 30 Five-in-One Food Carts, and 13 Carinderia Packages. Each livelihood package was worth P30,000 and awarded based on the documents presented by the beneficiaries.

Officials from the labor department graced the activity including DOLE Undersecretary Victor Del Rosario; DOLE Bureau of Workers with Special Concerns Director, Atty. Karen P. Trayvilla; DOLE-NCR Regional Director, Atty. Sarah Buena S. Mirasol; and DOLE-NCR PAPAMAMARISAN Field Office OIC-Director Alicia L. Del Mundo.

Mr. Edwin Tañega, one of the beneficiaries of the DOLE NegoKart – Welding Machine Package said: “Malaking bagay po ito na mairaraos ko po sa pang araw-araw sapagkat ito po ay magiging isang tulong sa aking hanapbuhay.”

As part of the assistance package, beneficiaries shall also receive relevant technical training or seminars, DTI permit, and one-year warranty on the machines acquired with call center support for after sales report.
