Some 25 underemployed workers who are members of the Barangay Tatalon Tabing Ilog Neighborhood Association Inc. received a Bigasan Kabuhayan Project on March 3, 2022 through the Department of Labor and Employment – National Capital Region (DOLE-NCR) in collaboration with the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).

The livelihood assistance was awarded as a Group Formation Project under the DOLE Integrated Livelihood Program (DILP).

DOLE-NCR Quezon City Field Office (QCFO) Director, Engr. Martin T. Jequinto led the awarding of 230 sacks of rice with AFP representative, 2Lt. Geraldine Gamo, Platoon Leader 2CMOSEP.

Also in attendance were QCFO Supervising Labor and Employment Officer Raymond Benjamin R. Perez, Labor and Employment Officer III Mary Lauren Resulta, and Labor and Employment Officer II Isabella Usigan.

Under DOLE Department Order No. 137-14, or the “Guidelines in the Implementation of the Department of Labor and Employment Integrated Livelihood and Emergency Employment Programs (DILEEP),” the Kabuhayan Program is a grant assistance for capacity building on livelihood for the poor, vulnerable and marginalized workers. It provides a working capital solely for the purchase of equipment, tools and jigs, raw materials, among others, to be used in their livelihood undertakings.
