A total of 71 beneficiaries in Metro Manila received a livelihood aid through the BikeCINATION Project of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) on July 1, 2022.

The awarded BikeCINATION project was worth P25,000.00 each and came with the following: a bicycle unit, android phone, electronic load wallet worth P5000, helmet, reflector vest, tail light, head light, water tumbler, rain coat, and thermal bag.

Then Labor Secretary Silvestre H. Bello led the awarding of assistance after the turnover ceremony of DOLE leadership to Secretary Bienvenido E. Laguesma. In a media interview held that day, the former labor chief emphasized that the BikeCINATION Project is one of the Department’s contribution to boost economic recovery by incentivizing workers who have completed COVID-19 vaccines.

“Nung araw, andaming ayaw magpabakuna. Incentive ito sa ating mga kababayan na takot magpabakuna. Nagbigay kami ng insentibo na bisikleta na may kasamang cellphone at load. Kapag nagpabakuna ka, bibigyan ka ng BikeCINATION…Pwede nilang gamitin sa pagnenegosyo…,” he said.

He was joined by Bureau of Workers with Special Concerns Director, Atty. Ma. Karina Perida-Trayvilla; DOLE Undersecretary Renato Ebarle; and DOLE-National Capital Region Director, Atty. Sarah Buena S. Mirasol.
