The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) awarded the Safety Seal Certificate to Unilever Philippines, Inc. on August 3, 2021, at United Nations Avenue, Manila.
Secretary Silvestre H. Bello III led the ceremonial awarding and congratulated the company for having attained the certification. According to the labor chief, the Safety Seal Certificate issued by DOLE is a manifestation of Unilever’s compliance with general labor standards and occupational safety and health standards.
“The best that we could do for those with Safety Seal is that they be exempted from inspection,” added Secretary Bello as he talked about the benefits of being granted with the Safety Seal.
Meanwhile, Unilever’s Vice-President for Human Resources Julie Hudtohan said that the company is proud to be recognized as a safe workplace. Hudtohan added that Unilever Philippines, Inc.’s partnership with the government is something to be proud of and it will be continued in the future.
“For us in Unilever in the Philippines, the partnership with the Department of Labor and Employment is part of the commitment to be good citizens, corporate citizens and to help in nation building. Thank you so much to DOLE for recognizing us,” said Hudtohan in her message.
Along with Secretary Bello were Undersecretary Renato L. Ebarle, DOLE-NCR Regional Director Sarah Buena S. Mirasol, and DOLE-NCR Manila Field Office Director Ma. Corazon M. Pepito who also worked behind the ceremonial awarding to the manufacturing company.
The Department of Labor and Employment is the issuing authority of the Safety Seal for manufacturing companies, construction sites, utilities, information and communication companies, and warehouses.
