DOLE holds ceremonial turn-over of TUPAD Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and tools at the City Government of Pasig on May 14, 2021.

The PPE is one of the components of the package assistance under the TUPAD Program of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) to protect the beneficiaries against health or safety risks during the conduct of various TUPAD community-based projects that are implemented in close coordination with the Local Government Units (LGU).

DOLE Secretary Silvestre H. Bello III led the turn over ceremony of the PPEs and tools donated by the International Labor Organization (ILO).

Pasig City Mayor Victor Ma. Regis N. Sotto and Cong. Roman T. Romulo received the PPEs consisted of construction helmets, gloves, TUPAD long-sleeved shirts, and rubber boots while tools included pick mattocks, shovels, garden rakes, and wheelbarrows.

Also in attendance were the following officials: DOLE Undersecretary Atty. Benjo Santos M. Benavidez, DOLE-BWSC Director Ma. Karina Perida-Trayvilla, DOLE-NCR Assistant Regional Director Marion S. Sevilla, DOLE-NCR PAPAMAMARISAN OIC-Director Alicia L. Del Mundo and TESDA representatives Cynthia C. Gabayoyo (Senior TESD Specialist) and Lester Olano (TESD Specialist II).

Representatives from Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) led by Director General/Secretary Isidro S. Lapeña were also present in view of the DOLE’s proposed partnership with said agency to equip TUPAD beneficiaries of LGUs with necessary skills to enable them to have sustainable undertakings after engagement in the TUPAD program, which may be through self-employment or wage-employment.
