The Department of Labor and Employment – National Capital Region (DOLE-NCR) was invited to grace the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) Graduation ceremony held at the Mandaluyong City Hall on March 8, 2021. 

DOLE-NCR Senior Labor and Employment Officer Ryan Roberto E. Delos Reyes of the Employment Promotion and Workers Welfare Division represented Regional Director, Atty. Sarah Buena S. Mirasol during said occasion. Also in attendance was Secretary Rolando Bautista of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and Regional Director Vicente Gregorio Tomas of DSWD-NCR.

The 21 graduating families are all locals of the City of Mandaluyong. They were turned-over by the DSWD officials to Mayor Carmelita Abalos of Mandaluyong. In her message, the local chief executive expressed her gratitude to the officials of the National Government Agencies present in the ceremony for the continuous support to the programs and initiatives of the City, particularly highlighting the assistance given during the height of the health crisis. She also highlighted the assistance given by DSWD through the 4Ps that aims to alleviate the conditions of the City’s marginalized sector.

During the graduation, the 21 families were presented tokens by the local government as well as commitments by the national government agencies to ensure their aftercare and sustainability of the government initiatives in human capital investment. Most of the needs elicited from the beneficiaries are economic undertaking such as employment, livelihood assistance and enhancement of skills and capabilities for entrepreneurship.

DOLE-NCR is a member of the 4Ps Regional Advisory Council. Said membership enable DOLE-NCR to contribute to said human investment initiative through provision of technical inputs during consultations, programs and services implementation, and camaraderie and network building.
