Some 1000 beneficiaries of the TUPAD or the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged / Displaced Workers Program underwent an orientation program conducted by the Makati-Pasay Field Office (MPFO) of the Department of Labor and Employment – National Capital Region (DOLE-NCR) on September 28, 2022 at the Malibay Plaza Gymnasium, Pasay City.

In partnership with the City Government of Pasay’s Public Employment Service Office (PESO), said activity aims to brief said beneficiaries and to facilitate their contract signing. The signing of their respective employment contract is an indication of their engagement as TUPAD beneficiaries of DOLE-NCR for a fixed period of ten (10) days.

The event was graced by no less than the lone representative from the district of Pasay, Congressman Antonino G. Calixto, together with Pasay City OIC-PESO Manager, Filipinas Rosario C. Sampang. Congressman Tony, as he is fondly called, welcomed the program beneficiaries and extended his sincere gratitude to the Department on the approval of his request for the allocation of the funds needed for the prompt implementation of the said program.

MPFO TUPAD focal person Maureen Chloe T. De Guzman led the orientation and discussed the bases and objective of the program, implementation process, desirable work attitude, and payment processing. She also congratulated the beneficiaries on behalf of MPFO OIC-Director II, Atty. Olivia O. Obrero-Samson and encouraged them to make the most out of the said employment opportunity. She was joined by MPFO TUPAD alternate focal person Ruby Rose B. Leosala and other MPFO staff assisting in the TUPAD implementation.

The TUPAD is a community-based package of assistance that provides emergency employment for displaced workers, underemployed and seasonal workers, for a minimum period of 10 days, but not to exceed a maximum of 30 days, depending on the nature of work to be performed.
