PASAY CITY—The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE-NCR) together with the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) held its annual Year-End Planning and Assessment on December 16, 2019 at the Philippine Air Force Museum at Villamor Airbase, Pasay City.

The activity is a red letter event for the PESOs in NCR as it serves as a venue for them to present their contributions to the employment service.

In her welcome message, Atty. Sarah Buena S. Mirasol, DOLE-NCR Regional Director, thanked the PESOs for their efforts and commitment in delivering employment programs and services. She also lauded their initiatives in making certain its continuous enhancement in making the PESOs a multi-faceted employment office.

Marc Ignatius Macatangay, LEO III of the Employment Promotions and Workers Welfare Division collated and presented the accomplishments of the six Field Offices and the 17 PESOs of NCR. Most of the programs achieved over 100% with among those notable accomplishments in the Special Program for Employment of Students, Labor Market Information, and Career Guidance and Employment Coaching. Also worth mentioning were the number of beneficiaries reach in the livelihood assistance.

During said activity, DOLE-NCR gave due recognition to the contributions of the Local Government Units and the PESOs through awards and incentives. Likewise recognized are the local chief executives of NCR and LGUs that supported the Child Labor Profiling initiatives of the Department.

Lourdes Austria of PESO Pasig City and Vinia Monteagudo of PESO San Juan City were also awarded during said activity for their services as managers. The former served as PESO Manager for 27 years while the latter is at 14 years.

A celebration of camaraderie followed after the awarding ceremonies, concluding the PESO and DOLE-NCR’s last meeting for 2019.
