The Department of Labor and Employment – National Capital Region (DOLE-NCR) through its Quezon City Field Office (QCFO) deployed its Quick Response Team (QRT) at the Colegio de San Lorenzo (CDSL) on August 25, 2022, to help the 118 displaced workers affected by the school’s permanent closure.

QCFO Director, Engr. Martin T. Jequinto led the QRT for the affected workers. He was accompanied by labor officers Ms. Johanna C. Montecino, Ms. Hannah Jane T. Postrado, Ms. Sharlene Palma, Mr. Jeremias Red, Mr. Robert Panganiban, Ms. Katrina Birad, and Ms. Jeliza Manaligod.

In addition to discussing the labor rights of displaced workers, the QRT also shared the flagship DOLE programs that they can avail, such as the Kabuhayan / Livelihood Assistance, Tulong Panghanapbuhay para sa Ating Displaced/Disadvantaged Workers (TUPAD), and the Government Internship Program (GIP).

Further, Mr. Joe Alex Macabulos, QC Public Employment Service Office (PESO) Assistant Manager was also in attendance to present the new programs offered by the Quezon City Local Government Unit to all the affected workers.

As of said date, a total of 65 affected workers submitted their application for the Kabuhayan / Livelihood Assistance Program while 13 signed up for the QC-PESO Cash Assistance.
