A total of fourteen KADIWA sellers expressed their interest to avail of the livelihood assistance program of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) during the government’s KADIWA caravan opening at the Quezon City Hall, Metro Manila on December 1, 2022.
Said sellers who would like to become beneficiaries of the DOLE Integrated Livelihood Program (DILP) are still being validated as of press time, said the Quezon City Field Office (QCFO) of DOLE-National Capital Region (NCR).
Labor Secretary Bienvenido E. Laguesma joined the event to ensure the Department’s support for the operation of the KADIWA store that was graced and led by DA Acting Secretary, President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr.
Key officials were also present, including DOLE Undersecretary, Atty. Benjo Santos M. Benavidez; DOLE-NCR Regional Director, Atty. Sarah Buena S. Mirasol; DOLE-NCR QCFO Director, Engr. Martin T. Jequinto; and other representatives from partner government agencies and Quezon City Government.
Launched and led by the Department of Agriculture (DA) in 2019, the “Katuwang sa Diwa at Gawa para sa Masaganang Ani at Mataas na Kita” (KADIWA), empowers the local farming communities to sell quality goods directly to consumers at affordable prices.
