A seminar for the owners of micro-establishments was conducted by the Department of Labor and Employment – National Capital Region (DOLE- NCR) MUNTAPARLAS Field Office on November 16, 2022, to ensure proper enforcement of the existing provisions of labor laws.

The activity, as participated by employers within the Muntinlupa, Taguig, Parañaque, and Las Pinas area, was done to educate the employers about the rights and privileges of workers and employers to ensure their compliance and to prevent issues or concerns upon visit of labor inspectors in their establishments.

Participant-employers learned the importance of compliance to the General Labor Standards (GLS) and Occupational Safety and Health Standards (OSHS) as discussed by MTPLFO Senior Labor and Employment Officers, Ms. Joydee Banta, Ms. Judith Ann Encomienda, Mr. Reynon Arlan, and Mr. Rhel Ian Padayhag. They also briefed the owners about the function, procedures, and guidelines of the Department’s Labor Inspection Program and its purpose in relation to the compliance of GLS and OSHS for their companies.

They also stressed the importance of having knowledge about the labor laws and its implementing rules and regulations to ensure proper treatment for their workers and prevent any labor disputes.
