The First Oceanic Property Management, Inc. (FOPM) paid a courtesy visit to the MUNTAPARLAS Field Office (MTPLFO) of the Department of Labor and Employment – National Capital Region (DOLE-NCR) on August 31, 2022 to seek a collaboration for humanitarian works.

MTPLFO Director Leonides Castillon Jr. and his team welcomed the FOPM representatives led by Mr. Richard Teehingchon, Vice President and Head for Risks, Controls and Audit, along with Mr. Arnel Tamodra, Corporate Services Division Head; Ms. Dee Manabat, Senior Manager, Employee Relations and Training; and Mr. Jon Berin, Centralized Compliance Officer.

During said meeting, the FOPM shared some of their notable volunteer works, such as providing free food to the street dwellers in Rizal Park – Manila. They also had their tie-up with Servathon, a non-government organization that promote environmental awareness, empower the school community, and provide food security. That being said, FOPM company would like to explore similar opportunities that they can extend to various government agencies such as the DOLE.

For their part, Director Castillon, Jr. discussed applicable labor department programs that support the marginalized sectors. Among them is the Child Labor Prevention and Elimination Program (CLPEP) wherein companies can offer jobs to the parents of child laborers. The MTPLFO Director also said that they can send proposals to the different Tripartite Industrial Peace Councils (TIPCs) and Industry Tripartite Councils (ITCs) of the Department, where they can network with fellow private companies and other agencies of the government for potential opportunities in the coming year.

The meeting was concluded with hopeful remarks from both ends, where they seek to work together for future endeavors that coincide with the visions of both the Department and the FOPM.
