A webinar on DOLE Department Order No. 224, series of 2021 or “Guidelines on Ventilation for Workplaces and Public Transport to Prevent and Control the Spread of COVID-19” was held by DOLE-NCR Manila Field Office for the Manila Tripartite Industrial Peace Council (MTIPC) and Education Industry Tripartite Council (EITC) on March 19, 2021 and April 23, 2021, respectively.
The recently issued guidelines are set for private establishments to enforce adequate ventilation in the workplace to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Aside from its prescribed strategies to ensure proper ventilation, D.O. 224-21 also provided ways to assess safe indoor air quality.
The learning session aimed to inform the member establishments of EITC and MTIPC on the recently formulated guidelines to help private establishments in preventing and controlling the spread of virus in their respective workplaces. The discussion also aimed to assist member establishments in their compliance with the set guidelines.
Labor Inspectors Cesar Ian Glory and Shari Klent Intong of DOLE-NCR Manila Field Office were tapped as resource persons for the said webinar. Meanwhile, Field Office Director Ma. Corazon M. Pepito assured the member establishments of MTIPC and EITC that DOLE-NCR Manila Field Office will assist them with their compliance on D.O. 224-21.
D.O. 224-21 was signed by DOLE Secretary Silvestre H. Bello III on March 3, 2021, as part of the continuing effort of the government to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 in workplaces.
