The upcoming Labor Day Trabaho, Negosyo, Kabuhayan (TNK) Job and Business Fair in Metro Manila on May 1 will offer over 20,000 jobs, said the regional office of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) in the National Capital Region (NCR).

In partnership with the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Manila through its Public Employment Service Office (PESO), PESO Association of Metro Manila (PAMM), private sectors, and government agencies, DOLE-NCR’s TNK fair is a mix of face-to-face and virtual job search assistance.

In Metro Manila, DOLE-NCR’s face-to-face job fair will take place at the Arroceros Forest Park, Ermita, Manila.

The virtual job fair activity for the local jobs, on the other hand, will be facilitated in partnership with JobQuest PH via while the overseas jobs through the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration via

As of press time, over 13,000 local jobs are offered by seventy participating private companies while more than 7,000 overseas jobs are posted by fifteen licensed recruitment agencies.

Among the top local vacancies include customer service representatives, machine operators, product promodisers, production workers, technical support experts, sales representatives, housekeepers, cashiers, carpenters, kitchen staff, bus drivers, warehouse personnel, and factory workers.

For overseas jobs, majority that are up for grabs include nurses, farmers, technicians, salespersons, and cashiers. Places of assignment will be in Japan, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, USA, Germany, Qatar, Kuwait, Jordan, New Zealand, and Singapore.

Meanwhile, the Labor Day TNK job and business fair in Metro Manila will also include career and entrepreneurship coaching and product display of 15 DOLE livelihood program beneficiaries.

Further, the regional office also tapped the Department of Trade and Industry – NCR to set up their flagship project “Diskwento Caravan” to provide basic commodities at a reasonable price. Said agency will also showcase 7 micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) during the fair.

Similarly, the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) – NCR will also join the activity to demonstrate various techniques, skills, and tips on cooking, barista, hair-cutting, and mechatronics.

DOLE-NCR will also put up One-Stop-Shop Pre-employment & Advisory Services to be participated by the following agencies: Social Security System (SSS), Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), Professional Regulation Commission (PRC), Pag-IBIG Fund, and PhilHealth. The regional office will also provide mediation-arbitration and legal assistance while the Manila LGU to ready first aid stations, mobile medical rescue unit, and security services at the job fair site.

DOLE-NCR also led a pre-Labor Day career and entrepreneurship coaching on April 26 at Quezon City University (QCU) and to do the same for the QC LGU’s beneficiaries of the Special Program for Employment of Students (SPES) on April 27 and Government Internship Program (GIP) on April 28.

A post-Labor Day TNK fair on May 4 will be led by the Parañaque City LGU’s PESO with over 1,000 job vacancies offered by thirty employers.

With the easing of alert levels at NCR, Regional Director Atty. Sarah Buena S. Mirasol ensured that all involved agencies and jobseekers are informed in advance of the activity protocols for a safe and COVID-free conduct of the face-to-face job fair.

“Gusto naming masiguro na maayos at ligtas ang magiging takbo ng ating hybrid Job Fair, said Director Mirasol during the Employers Forum on April 26.

“Kami po ay taos pusong nagpapasalamat sa inyong walang sawang pagsuporta sa aming Kagawaran. Kami po sa DOLE ay laging umaasa sa inyong patuloy na pagtangkilik at paglahok sa mga susunod pa naming Job Fairs dahil inaabangan po talaga ito taon-taon ng ating mga job applicants,” she added.

For those who prefer to join the face-to-face job fair, DOLE-NCR also reminds jobseekers to bring their vaccination cards, resumes, and their own pen.

The 2022 Labor Day TNK fair, with the theme of “Matatag na Manggagawa, Matatag na Bansa,” is in line with the labor department’s overall mandate of promoting gainful employment opportunities.
